Trimming hair around the eyes/visor is a necessity for some breeds as the hair overhangs the eyes making it harder for the dog to see or have clear vision. Overgrown hair around the eyes also may cause irritation. Additionally, if the dog has thick hair around the nose and in the area between the eyes the vision (including peripheral vision) can get blocked leading to accidents and eye issues.
